League Two roundup: Top two drop points, Portsmouth score six in second half

Sports Mole rounds up all of Tuesday evening's action in League Two.

Plymouth Argyle remain top of League Two after Tuesday evening's action despite dropping points against Leyton Orient.

Jay Simpson gave the O's the lead but Curtis Nelson equalised in the 81st minute to rescue a point for Plymouth.

Second-placed Oxford United also dropped points due to a 1-1 draw at home to Newport County. Lenell John-Lewis gave Newport the lead but Pat Hoban scored with 18 minutes remaining.

Northampton took advantage of the top two dropping points by beating Crawley Town 2-1. Early goals from Joel Byrom and John-Joe O'Toole put Northampton in the driving seat before Simon Walton scored a consolation from the penalty spot in the second half.

Jackie McNamara has now lost his opening four matches in charge of York City after a 6-0 loss to Portsmouth. All six goals were scored in the second half, after Jonathan Greening was sent off, with Marc McNulty's hat-trick the highlight for Pompey.

Jamie Cureton's late strike has propelled Dagenham & Redbridge off the foot of the table as they beat London rivals AFC Wimbledon 1-0.

Yeovil Town are in danger of their third successive relegation and they were in a familiar position tonight, losing to Wycombe Wanderers after Luke O'Nien's 70th-minute goal consigned the Somerset club to the bottom of the league.

Stevenage earned a much-needed win at Bristol Rovers to move seven points clear of the drop zone. Ben Kennedy's opener was cancelled out by Matt Taylor but Chris Whelpdale netted on the hour mark to secure the points.

Carlisle United moved into the playoff places in style. After trailing 3-1 to Luton Town, three goals in the final 23 minutes secured them a 4-3 victory.
