Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City take on Tottenham Hotspur in North London this Saturday as Premier League football returns after the international break.

Pep Guardiola's side went into the two-week break off the back of a 1-1 draw at home to champions Liverpool - a result which which was just enough to sneak them into the top half of the table.

However, City are now unbeaten in nine games across all competitions and have a game in hand over most other teams in the league, so victory over a high-flying Spurs side this weekend would be another step towards restoring their title credentials.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of their latest injury and suspension news ahead of their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Raheem Sterling

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: November 21 (vs. Spurs)

Raheem Sterling picked up a calf injury in training with England during the international break and was subsequently released back to Man City ahead of Wednesday's win over Iceland. The problem is not thought to be too serious, although he is a doubt for this match.

Nathan Ake

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Sterling was not the only Man City player to pick up an injury during international duty, with Nathan Ake lasting only six minutes of Netherlands' friendly against Spain before limping off with a hamstring problem. Fortunately for Man City, the injury is not thought to be as serious as first feared, although he will miss this weekend's game.

Sergio Aguero

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: November 21 (vs. Spurs)

Sergio Aguero has been limited to just 111 minutes of Premier League action this season due to injury, but he could be in line to return for this match having used the international break to recover from his hamstring problem.

Fernandinho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Stomach
Possible return date: Unknown

Fernandinho has now recovered from the leg injury which has kept him out for the past month, but he will miss this weekend's match due to a stomach problem.

Benjamin Mendy
