Sevilla, Villarreal in goalless La Liga draw

Sevilla and Villarreal play out a goalless draw in this evening's La Liga match.

Sevilla played out a goalless draw against Villarreal in this evening's La Liga match, just three days after their last-gasp Europa League triumph against Valencia.

The hosts, who now can't finish in the top four, almost took the lead in the 20th minute this evening when Marko Marin was denied by Sergio Asenjo.

Victor Vitolo was next to go close for Sevilla, but again Asenjo kept the scores level.

After the break Villarreal were the closest to a winner when Mateo Musacchio's shot flew just past the post.

Villarreal miss out on the chance to close in on the top six, while Sevilla are now in danger of being overtaken for fifth by Real Sociedad.
