Jessy Pi strike rescues Troyes draw at Reims

Jessy Pi's goal earns relegation-threatened Troyes a rare point away to Reims.

Troyes picked up only their sixth point of the campaign after Jessy Pi's second-half goal earned them a draw away to Reims.

Both sides had early chances to take the lead as Jimmy Cabot fired a shot wide before ex-Liverpool forward David Ngog brought a save out of ESTAC keeper Paul Bernardoni.

Stade continued to threaten in the first half as Bernardoni denied Nicolas De Preville's effort before Aissa Mandi missed the target with another attempt.

Reims finally broke the deadlock before the interval after De Preville's well-struck shot left the Troyes keeper beaten.

However, the visitors hit back within moments of the restart as Pi's strike found a way past Stade keeper Kossi Agassa.

Corentin Jean could have snatched victory in the dying stages as his effort from Cabot's cross was only inches wide of the target.

Troyes did manage to hold out for a point, but they remain nine points adrift of 19th-place Toulouse.
