Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo misses Saturday's La Liga clash against local rivals Atletico Madrid with a leg injury.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been ruled out of this weekend's La Liga clash against local rivals Atletico Madrid with a leg injury.

Los Blancos, who are three points above their neighbours in the table, make the short trip to the Vicente Calderon Stadium on Saturday.

"Cristiano Ronaldo will not be in the squad for tomorrow," Real assistant coach Aitor Karanka is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

"With the exception of Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo and [Alvaro] Arbeloa, the rest are well and tomorrow our best team will go out to win."

Ronaldo has scored 47 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid this season.
