How Real Madrid could line up against Valencia

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Sunday's La Liga clash with Valencia.

Real Madrid will be looking to make it three La Liga wins in a row when they welcome Valencia to the Spanish capital on Sunday afternoon.

Zinedine Zidane's side have taken maximum points from their last two league games against Huesca and Getafe to move to within five points of division leaders Atletico Madrid.

Second-placed Madrid have played two games more than their bitter rivals Atletico, though, and the reigning champions are also only four points above fourth-placed Sevilla heading into this weekend's fixtures.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Los Blancos could line up against Javi Gracia's side.

Rodrygo Goes, Eden Hazard, Sergio Ramos, Federico Valverde, Eder Militao and Alvaro Odriozola will again be unavailable for Madrid this weekend through injury, while Marcelo will miss out due to the calf problem that he picked up in the latter stages of the win over Getafe on Tuesday night.

Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal have both returned to training, though, and it would not be a surprise to see the former handed the right-back spot, with Carvajal potentially being given slightly longer to recover.

Toni Kroos is also available, having served a one-game suspension against Getafe, and the Germany international should replace Marvin in the middle of the park.

Nacho, Raphael Varane and Ferland Mendy will all keep their spots in the starting XI, while there are also unlikely to be any changes in the final third of the field, with Vinicius Junior and Marco Asensio set to retain their positions either side of central striker Karim Benzema.

Hazard was actually on the grass at the club's training ground on Friday, suggesting that he is not too far away from recovering from a muscular problem, but the Belgium international will not be considered for this game.
