Lee McCulloch: 'Rangers don't fear Celtic'

Rangers captain Lee McCulloch admits that his side will find it "hard" to overcome Celtic this weekend, but he remains confident that they can do exactly that.

Lee McCulloch has insisted that Celtic hold no fear for Rangers ahead of this weekend's Old Firm meeting between the two sides.

Sunday's Scottish League Cup clash marks the first time that the Glasgow rivals have faced off in nearly three years following the Gers' high-profile financial difficulties.

Despite the current gulf in division between the pair, McCulloch remains confident that his side can make the most of their underdogs tag and pick up a surprise win against the Scottish champions.

"I wouldn't say there is any fear," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "There is respect. There is never really any fear. We just need to go and enjoy the occasion.

"We need to play well if we want to win the match. We are massive underdogs. It's good we have a mentality that we want to go and show people we are capable of winning. What I would say is it's going to be really hard for us, just like it has been in the past. Sunday will be no different."

Celtic came out on top the last time they met Rangers, running out 3-0 winners at Celtic Park in April 2012.
