Charlie Austin 'worth £15-20m at least'

Charlie Austin will only leave Queens Park Rangers for a fee of around £15-20million, according to director of football Les Ferdinand.

Queens Park Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand has revealed that clubs interested in signing Charlie Austin may have to fork out up to £20m.

The ex-Burnley forward has been a rare bright light in QPR's season, scoring 17 goals for the West London outfit, and has been linked with a move away from Loftus Road in recent months.

However, Ferdinand is unwilling to part with his leading goalscorer on the cheap.

He told talkSPORT: "It's up to us to try and keep the wolves from the door but you're never going to stop them from knocking and coming in.

"He's had a fantastic debut season in the Premier League, scoring 17 goals, and he's missed two penalties. So, it should be 19 goals! People will want to keep him in the division, goalscorers are a premium.

"What's he worth? When you look at some of the players who have moved like Sergio Aguero, and I'm not putting him in their class because they've done it year-in and year-out but someone scoring 17 goals in this division you're looking at £15-¬20million at least."

QPR were relegated last weekend after a 6-0 defeat at Manchester City.
