Chris Ramsey: Queens Park Rangers "punished" for missed chances

Chris Ramsey admits that his Queens Park Rangers players were "punished" for their failure to score more goals against Cardiff City.

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has conceded that his side were "punished" for their failure to convert a number of chances during yesterday's 2-2 draw with Cardiff City.

The hosting R's opened up a 2-0 lead at Loftus Road thanks to goals either side of the break from Clint Hill and Charlie Austin, but they ended up being pegged back by their Welsh visitors.

Talking to reporters after the final whistle, Ramsey bemoaned the fact that QPR did not score more goals.

"It was a kick in the teeth. We should have just sealed the points. We had a lot of chances and the game should have been over, well before. We haven't taken those chances and in the end we got punished," he said.

The draw means that the West Londoners have collected one point from their opening two Championship matches.
