Charlie Austin to decide QPR after England duty

Charlie Austin says that he will not make a decision over his QPR future until his forthcoming England duties are finished.

In-demand Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin has revealed that he will make a decision on his future once the forthcoming England games are complete.

The 25-year-old netted 18 Premier League goals last season and is heavily expected to remain in the top flight even after Rangers' relegation back to the Championship.

Southampton have been linked with a £10m bid, but Austin, who was called up for the friendly with the Republic of Ireland and Euro 2016 qualifier with Slovenia, says that his future can wait.

"I feel like I've worked hard enough this season for QPR to try to be a Premier League player, but, at the moment, I've still got a year left at QPR, so what the future holds, that's up to the club and my agent to sort out," he told the Shields Gazette.

"I'll speak to [manager] Chris Ramsey and [director of football] Les Ferdinand and tell them my thoughts and they'll tell me their thoughts.

"After these two weeks, I'll sit down with the club, but I just want to be fully focused on these next two weeks with England."

Austin's contract at Loftus Road expires next summer.
