Nine-goal Paris Saint-Germain wrap up Ligue 1 title in style

Paris Saint-Germain hammer Troyes 9-0 and in doing so are crowned the champions of France for a fourth season in a row.

Paris Saint-Germain scored nine unanswered goals away at Troyes this afternoon to wrap up a fourth Ligue 1 title in a row.

Second-placed Monaco were held to a 2-2 draw by Reims on Friday night, which handed the Parisians the chance to claim Le Championnat trophy after just 30 matches - a league record.

They wasted little time in taking control at the Stade de l'Aube as Edinson Cavani, Javier Pastore and Adrien Rabiot all found the net within the opening 19 minutes.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic then added a 10-minute hat-trick early in the second half, before an own goal from Matthieu Saunier and another Cavani goal made it 8-0.

The scoring was completed one minute from time by Ibrahimovic, who during the game took his Ligue 1 goal tally over the 100 mark.

Hosting Troyes also ended the game with 10 men thanks to the sending-off of Lossemy Karaboue.
