Alex Neil: 'Jordan Hugill deal worked for everyone'

Preston North End boss Alex Neil says that the deal that took Jordan Hugill to West Ham United in the final stages of the January transfer window 'worked for everyone'.

Preston North End boss Alex Neil has claimed that the deal that took Jordan Hugill to West Ham United in the final stages of the January transfer window 'worked for everyone'.

Hugill travelled to London on Wednesday afternoon before joining the Hammers ahead of the deadline.

The 25-year-old has scored 10 times in 29 appearances for Preston during the 2017-18 campaign, but Neil has insisted that his team can cope without the presence of the centre-forward.

"Some deals work for everybody and I think Jordan has done well from it and the club has too and so have West Ham, so I think it was the right thing and now we can concentrate on what we want to do here," Neil told reporters.

"He will be a loss there's no doubt about that because we know what he brings to the team but we have already shown what we can do when he isn't in the team and it's an opportunity for the other players."

Hugill has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with West Ham.
