Tony Mowbray praises Middlesbrough's defensive display during their goalless draw at Burnley.

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has revealed that he was happy with his side's defensive display against Burnley on Tuesday.

The two sides were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw at Turf Moor which leaves Boro in the playoff spots, despite winning one of their last eight Championship outings.

Mowbray was pleased with the way his side fought for a point in the midst of their current injury crisis.

"From our perspective we've conceded too many goals on the road recently," Mowbray told Sky Sports News. "We've got a lot of injuries. I think it was 12 first-team players injured tonight and I don't make any apologies for coming and making sure that we were defensively solid.

"A really hard-working team was picked and a lot of attacking threat was left on the bench to try and make sure we stayed in the game.

"I was pleased that we kept a clean sheet, that we worked extremely hard for each other - it's been a difficult month-and-a-half."

Boro host Millwall on Saturday.
