Marseille and Toulouse have played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their Ligue 1 clash at Stade Velodrome.

Dimitri Payet got L'OM off to a dream start when he fired into the bottom corner seven minutes into the match after a good first touch.

Toulouse responded almost immediately when poor defending from the hosts allowed Wassim Ben Yedder to head home unmarked at the back post.

Mathieu Valbuena got the hosts back in front just before half time when he slotted in Andre-Pierre Gignac's pull-back.

Gignac then came close to adding a third minutes later when he cut inside from the left and curled an effort just past the post.

The striker was made to pay for the missed chance as Toulouse grew into the game after the break.

They equalised when Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda failed to clear from a corner, allowing Serge Aurier to power in a header.

Toulouse should have gone into the lead when Martin Braithwaite broke clear a few minutes after the goal, but Lucas Mendes did well to cover back and clear away the danger.

Marseille struggled throughout the second half, but should have snatched all three points when Florian Thauvin blazed over the bar from six yards three minutes from time.
