Jesse Lingard is resigned to leaving Manchester United on a free transfer at the end of June, according to a report.

Jesse Lingard is reportedly resigned to leaving Manchester United at the end of June, with the attacker not interested in discussing a new contract at Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old has struggled to make his mark for the Red Devils during the 2021-22 campaign, contributing just two goals and one assist in 22 appearances in all competitions.

Lingard's contract in Manchester is due to expire at the end of June, but a recent report claimed that incoming head coach Erik ten Hag was keen to speak to the playmaker about his future.

Ten Hag is allegedly open to discussing a new deal with the England international, who came through the youth system at Old Trafford.

However, according to BBC Sport, Lingard has no interest in speaking to the club's new head coach, and he is preparing to seek pastures new at the end of June.

The report claims that Newcastle United, AC Milan, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have already been in touch with the attacker's agent to register their interest.

Lingard is believed to have been furious that he was not given the chance to bid farewell to the Man United supporters during Monday's Premier League clash with Brentford at Old Trafford, and his brother posted a message on social media criticising the club for not allowing him to say goodbye to the fans.

Newcastle were strongly linked with the playmaker in January, but Man United ultimately decided against letting him leave due to a shortage of attackers.

Lingard is thought to be open to considering a move abroad, but the Magpies, in addition to West Ham United, could attempt to keep the Red Devils academy product in the Premier League.

The Englishman has only started two Premier League matches this season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick overlooking him for much of the campaign.

Lingard is believed to have been promised a regular role at Man United at the start of the campaign, having enjoyed an impressive loan spell at West Ham in the second half of last term, finding the back of the net on nine occasions and contributing five assists in 16 appearances.

The attacker is one of a number of players expected to leave the 20-time English champions on a free transfer at the end of June, with the club set to undergo a rebuild under their new head coach.

Juan Mata, Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Lee Grant are also out of contract this summer, and all four are expected to seek pastures new.

Meanwhile, Man United are allegedly facing a battle to keep hold of Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Portugal international considering leaving the club in the upcoming market.

The Red Devils are currently sixth in the Premier League table ahead of their final two league matches of the campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace.
