Independiente Del Valle general manager Santiago Morales dismisses suggestions that Manchester United are attempting to sign youngster Moises Caicedo.

Independiente del Valle general manager Santiago Morales has played down speculation linking Moises Caicedo with a move to Manchester United.

The Premier League giants have been heavily linked with the midfielder, who could be available for a fee in the region of €6m (£5.42m).

However, despite acknowledging that the 19-year-old is likely to leave the club during 2021, Morales has insisted that United have not made any contact regarding a deal.

Speaking to Radio La Red, Morales said: "There's interest from various teams for Moises Caicedo and we believe that we will not have him this year.

"There is much speculation with Moises Caicedo, but we haven't had any communication with Manchester United.

"We are surprised that they even talk about values, but we haven't spoken with Manchester United, although we have spoken with other great teams in the world."

Caicedo, who has three-and-a-half years left on his contract, has already earned four caps with Ecuador.
