Edinson Cavani 'wants to stay at Manchester United'

Edinson Cavani wants to remain with Manchester United until the end of the 2021-22 campaign, according to a report.

Edinson Cavani is reportedly determined to remain with Manchester United until the summer of 2022.

The 34-year-old joined the Red Devils on a free transfer last October and has been in impressive form for the English giants, scoring seven times in 24 appearances in all competitions.

As it stands, the Uruguay international's contract is due to expire at the end of June, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have the option of activating a 12-month extension on the agreement.

Cavani is currently able to talks to foreign clubs over the possibility of a switch this summer, but according to The Telegraph, the South American is not interested in leaving Old Trafford in 2021.

The report claims that the experienced striker is already focusing on the 2021-22 campaign, with United widely expected to announce an extension in the coming weeks.

Cavani, who is believed to be a target for Boca Juniors, has scored six times and provided two assists in 17 Premier League appearances this season.
