Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up in Saturday's pre-season friendly with Lens.

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is expected to send a strong XI onto the field for Saturday's pre-season friendly with Lens at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils will play twice this weekend, also taking on Athletic Bilbao in Dublin on Sunday, and it is unclear at this moment how Ten Hag will split his squad.

However, a strong team is set to take on Lens, with Andre Onana and Mason Mount expected to make their home debuts for the 20-time English champions against last season's Ligue 1 runners-up.

The team could be very similar to the one that takes to the field for the first whistle of the Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 14.

A deal for Rasmus Hojlund has been held up, so the Denmark international, who is close to arriving in a big-money move from Atalanta BC, will not be involved here.

However, Jadon Sancho has been a regular during pre-season and is expected to start alongside Antony and Marcus Rashford in the final third of the field.

Raphael Varane and Alejandro Garnacho missed out against Dortmund due to fitness issues and will need to be assessed ahead of this match, while Anthony Martial remains a doubt due to a hamstring problem.

Dean Henderson, Tyrell Malacia, Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo are also all out for the Red Devils through injury.

Manchester United possible starting lineup: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Fernandes, Casemiro, Mount; Antony, Rashford, Sancho
