Santiago Solari unconcerned by reports linking Jose Mourinho with Real Madrid

Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari insists that he is not concerned by reports linking sacked Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho with a return to the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari has insisted that he is not concerned by speculation linking Jose Mourinho with a sensational return to the club.

Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United earlier today with the club sitting sixth in the Premier League table, 19 points off the leaders and 11 adrift of the Champions League places.

The Portuguese boss has previously been linked with a return to the Bernabeu, where he spent three years as manager between 2010 and 2013, but Solari - who only recently signed a permanent deal until 2021 - shrugged off the reports.

"How would I be worried about rumours or speculation about Real Madrid?" Solari told reporters at a Club World Cup press conference in Abu Dhabi.

"It happens every day, it is just part of our reality. I feel the same as when I arrived here to work as a coach, and further back as a player. That is to give everything in my job every day, that is my way of viewing football."

Mourinho won one league title and one Copa del Rey during his three years in the Spanish capital.
