Sheikh Jassim reportedly remains confident that he will succeed in his attempt to buy Manchester United from the Glazer family.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is reportedly confident that his takeover bid for Manchester United will be accepted.

The Glazer family announced last November that they were exploring strategic alternatives for the club, including a potential sale.

Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim and INEOS owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe have emerged as the frontrunners to complete a takeover of the 20-time English champions.

In the second round of offers, Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe supposedly had £5bn bids rejected, with the Glazers holding out for their £6bn valuation.

Sheikh Jassim is still determined to buy the club and is preparing to make a third offer by the end of April.

However, there is a belief that Man United co-owners Joel Glazer and Avram Glazer are leaning towards accepting minority investments.

Their stance differs from the one that is held by their siblings - Kevin, Edward, Bryan and Darcie - who are believed to be pushing for a full sale.

US-based investment company the Carlyle Group reportedly want to acquire a minority stake, and their offer is being examined by the Raine Group, who are handling the bidding process on the Glazers' behalf.

Ares Management and Elliot Investment Management are also looking to buy a small stake in the club, which would allow the Glazers to remain at Old Trafford.

Despite the latest developments, according to The Guardian, Sheikh Jassim is confident that he will succeed with his bid.

Sheikh Jassim is making his offer via his Nine Two Foundation and is only interested in completing a full takeover of the club.

The Qatari banker has previously stated that his bid is entirely debt free, which could give him the edge of over Ratcliffe, who has indicated that he is unwilling to wipe Man United's debt.

Finnish billionaire Thomas Zilliacus has stated that he will not enter a third round of bidding, but he remains interested in buying the club.

On the pitch, Man United are preparing for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final with Sevilla.

After giving up a two-goal lead in the first leg at Old Trafford, the tie remains finely poised ahead of Thursday's meeting at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
