David Moyes: 'Sir Alex Ferguson's book won't bother Wayne Rooney'

Manchester United manager David Moyes claims that Sir Alex Ferguson's revelations about Wayne Rooney in his book won't trouble the striker.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson's revelations about Wayne Rooney in his autobiography will not affect the player's form.

Former United boss Ferguson said in his book that Rooney asked to leave the club on two separate occasions, before the Scot eventually retired at the end of last season.

However, the current Red Devils boss doesn't think that the statements made by Ferguson will not trouble his striker.

"I think Wayne is completely focused on his football [and] he has been since the first day of pre-season," Moyes is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"Alex Ferguson can do what he wishes. He is his own man. Everyone at Old Trafford will love to hear what he can say, certainly the supporters will.

"He is someone with great knowledge so I'm sure everyone will enjoy reading it. [Rooney] is in good form, looking after himself and playing well."

Moyes's side entertain Real Sociedad in the Champions League this evening.
