Manchester United draw Liverpool in League Cup third round

Manchester United and Liverpool will go head to head in arguably the tie of the League Cup third-round draw.

Manchester United and Liverpool have been drawn to play each other in the third round of the League Cup.

The two rivals, who were first out of the hat, will go head to head at Old Trafford in what should be the most eagerly-anticipated tie of the third round.

It will also be the first game in which Luis Suarez will be available for selection following a 10-game suspension for biting Branislav Ivanovic.

Meanwhile, Manchester City will entertain Wigan Athletic at the Etihad Stadium and will be looking to exact revenge for defeat in the FA Cup final in May.

Swindon Town have been rewarded for reaching the third round with a match at home to Chelsea.
