Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Norwich City.

Manchester City will be without Gabriel Jesus and Cole Palmer for Saturday evening's Premier League trip to Norwich City.

Jesus has missed the last two matches against Fulham and Brentford after returning from international duty with Brazil with a minor muscle injury, while Palmer has been sidelined for a month with an unspecified problem.

Pep Guardiola has no other injury concerns and will now consider whether to tweak the starting lineup that he selected against the Bees on Wednesday.

Kyle Walker was dropped to the bench and did not feature in midweek, with John Stones starting at right-back instead, but the former is expected to gain some minutes on Saturday, as he is banned for next Tuesday's Champions League last-16 tie with Sporting Lisbon.

Stones could therefore return to the substitutes' bench as Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte are the two most likely candidates to start at centre-back, while in-form full-back Joao Cancelo is set to continue at left-back.

Ilkay Gundogan and club captain Fernandinho could be handed starts in midfield if Guardiola decides to give two of Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri or Bernardo Silva a rest ahead of their European tie.

Jack Grealish is another who began on the bench in midweek and he will be hoping to force his way into the first XI ahead of either Phil Foden or Raheem Sterling.

Riyad Mahrez has been in fine form in front of goal recently and the Algerian is expected to keep his place on the right side of an attacking front three; the 30-year-old has scored in each of his last seven appearances for City across all competitions – the last player to find the net in more consecutive games for the club was Sergio Aguero back in 2014 (eight).

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva; Mahrez, Foden, Grealish
