Raheem Sterling talks up England teammates Jamie Vardy, Ross Barkley

England winger Raheem Sterling pinpoints Jamie Vardy and Ross Barkley as two of his brightest teammates ahead of the friendlies against Spain and France.

Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has talked up the attacking talent at England's disposal ahead of the upcoming friendlies against Spain and France.

The Three Lions were the only team to win all 10 games in qualifying for Euro 2016, and only Poland (33) scored more than Roy Hodgson's side (31).

Sterling pinpointed the likes of Everton's Ross Barkley and Leicester City's Jamie Vardy, who has scored in nine consecutive Premier League games, when saying how exciting it was to be part of the England squad.

"We've got a good team going forwards," the 20-year-old told reporters. "The attacking players that we've got - Jamie Vards he's been on a good goalscoring streak so far, Ross has been doing really well for Everton this season.

"Counter-attacking football [is] really exciting. There are players in the team that can score goals. The new players have done well. It's exciting times for England."

England face reigning European champions Spain in Alicante on Friday before returning home to welcome Euro 2016 hosts France on Tuesday.
