Team News: Harry Kane leads line for England, David de Gea dropped by Spain in Alicante

Harry Kane leads the line for England against Spain, while David de Gea has been dropped from La Roja for their friendly in Alicante.

Harry Kane has been selected by Roy Hodgson to start up front for England in tonight's friendly against Spain, who have dropped goalkeeper David de Gea in Alicante.

Three Lions captain Wayne Rooney will start on the bench this evening, while there is no place in the squad for Jamie Vardy, who is carrying a knock.

Ross Barkley and Raheem Sterling are expected to play supporting attacking roles to Kane, while Michael Carrick, Fabian Delph and Adam Lallana line the midfield.

Kyle Walker and Ryan Bertrand start on either side of a central defensive partnership between Manchester United pair Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, while Joe Hart is in goal.

Meanwhile, Vicente del Bosque has selected Diego Costa, who was not included in the Spain squad for their final two Euro 2016 qualifiers, to start up front for La Roja alongside Paco Alcacer.

Casillas, who has been preferred to De Gea, will win his 165th cap as he lines up in goal, while Gerard Pique and Marc Bartra form a defensive partnership in the back four.
