Frank Lampard and Yaya Toure start Manchester City's third-round League Cup clash at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has named a strong first XI for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday in tonight's League Cup clash at the Etihad.

Eliaquim Mangala retains his place in defence following Sunday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea, while Fernandinho, Frank Lampard and Yaya Toure make up a formidable midfield.

Edin Dzeko leads the line as City look to move one step closer to retaining their Capital One Cup title.

Charged with the task of scoring the goals to knock out the defending champions are Gary Madine and Stevie May, who partner each other in the Owls' attack.
