Everton boss Roberto Martinez not worried by Daniel Sturridge's Liverpool return

Roberto Martinez says that he is unconcerned by Daniel Sturridge's return to the Liverpool side ahead of this weekend's Merseyside derby.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has insisted that he is not putting too much focus on the return of Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge ahead of this weekend's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

The England international scored within 10 minutes of his cameo appearance in last Saturday's 2-0 win over West Ham United at Anfield.

The match was Sturridge's first in five months as he has been dealing with calf and thigh problems for the majority of the season.

"You can only play with 11," the Liverpool Echo quotes Martinez as saying. "People can focus too much on one player. If they could play with 11 plus Sturridge then I would be worried.

"They have real quality and when you look at the money they spent, over £100m, you are not going to get bad players in their squad."

Everton are currently 12 points below their local rivals in the Premier League table after picking up just five points from a possible 21 in their last seven games.
