Sports Mole looks back over the 23rd round of Premier League encounters with a selection of facts and figures from each match.

Hull City 0-3 Newcastle United

It was fifth time lucky for John Carver, who won for the first time since he was handed the caretaker job in charge of Newcastle.

Among the goals was Remy Cabella, who found the net for the first time in the Premier League since his summer move from Montpellier.

Meanwhile, the hosting Tigers have failed to score in 11 of their last 15 games.

Crystal Palace 0-1 Everton

The victory was only a second for the visiting Toffees in 14 outings and their first in nine.

In contrast, new Palace boss Alan Pardew tasted defeat for the first time since he took charge at Selhurst Park - five matches.

The two sides had gone into the contest in South London level on 23 points apiece.

Liverpool 2-0 West Ham United

Having spent five months on the sidelines with calf and thigh complaints, Daniel Sturridge scored within 12 minutes of his second-half introduction.

His impact helped Liverpool to record what was only their third win in eight Premier League home matches.

As for West Ham, they are without an away win since December 2, which is a run of four games.

Manchester United 3-1 Leicester City

The Red Devils recorded their ninth home win of the season, which is the same amount as they managed during the whole of last term.

Radamel Falcao, who scored United's second goal, has been directly involved in seven goals in his nine Premier League starts.

Since they defeated United back in September, Leicester have won just twice in 18 outings.

Stoke City 3-1 Queens Park Rangers

Jonathan Walters scored a hat-trick on what was his 200th appearance for Stoke.

What's more, the Republic of Ireland scored the perfect trio (right foot, left foot and head). He's the first player to do so since Kevin Nolan and Romelu Lukaku in May 2013.

QPR's poor form on the road continued, having now lost all 11 of their away matches this term.

Sunderland 2-0 Burnley

Jermain Defoe's first goal in Sunderland colours was his 125th in the Premier League.

It helped the Black Cats to record what was only their second victory at the Stadium of Light this season.

After a bright December, Sean Dyche's Burnley have now won just one of their last nine games.

West Bromwich Albion 0-3 Tottenham Hotspur

England Under-21 international Harry Kane took his goal tally for the season in all competitions to 20 - no Premier League player has scored more.

Tottenham's other goalscorer - Christian Eriksen - has scored six of his nine goals away from home this term.

The defeat was the first that West Brom have suffered in 2015.

Chelsea 1-1 Manchester City

The home side managed just three shots on target, which was their lowest number since the 2003-04 campaign.

The last of those efforts came in the 41st minute when Loic Remy found the net.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini has got the better of Jose Mourinho just twice in his 12 meetings with the Portuguese coach's teams.

Arsenal 5-0 Aston Villa

Struggling Villa have now gone a club-record six Premier League matches without scoring a goal - a run that goes back 612 minutes.

As for Arsenal, they scored five goals in one match for the first time this season.

Of their last 29 matches at the Emirates Stadium, Arsene Wenger's side have lost only once.

Southampton 0-1 Swansea City

Swansea's win was their first away on the South Coast in 62 years.

For Southampton, it was their first defeat in seven Premier League outings.
