Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Crystal Palace

Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League showdown with Crystal Palace at Anfield.

Liverpool welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield on Wednesday for their first home match since the coronavirus shutdown.

A drab goalless draw in the Merseyside derby on Sunday left Jurgen Klopp's side five points away from a first title in 30 years, and they can take another big step towards wrapping that up with victory over Palace.

The Reds go into the contest with a 100% home record in the Premier League this season, but having now won just one of their last five games across all competitions.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up their latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Mohamed Salah

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: June 24 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Mohamed Salah was only deemed fit enough for the bench in the derby and did not come on despite Klopp having five subs available to him, so his participation in Wednesday's game also remains in doubt.

Andrew Robertson

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: June 24 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Andrew Robertson missed the derby entirely due to a knock he picked up in training and, with only three days between matches, the time for him to recover is minimal.

James Milner

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: July 2 (vs. Manchester City)

James Milner started at left-back for the derby but lasted only 43 minutes before coming off with a slight hamstring injury. The problem is not thought to be serious, but the likelihood of him recovering from a muscle injury in time for this match is very slim.

Joel Matip

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Toe
Possible return date: June 24 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Klopp is confident that the toe injury which forced Joel Matip off in the derby is nothing serious, but he did confirm that it was "really painful" and so the centre-back will be assessed in the buildup to this match.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Klopp confirmed before the Merseyside derby that Xherdan Shaqiri is not too far away from recovering from the injury which has kept him sidelined since January, but he is expected to miss this match.

Nathaniel Clyne

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Nathaniel Clyne suffered a serious ACL injury during pre-season, which has kept him out for the entire 2019-20 campaign so far and could mean that he has played his last game for Liverpool.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this match.
