Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp calls for fans to show respect to both Roma and the team's travelling supporters when they visit Anfield in the Champions League.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has called on the club's supporters to show Roma and their travelling fanbase respect when they visit Anfield in the Champions League.

The Reds came under fire in the quarter-finals when a section of supporters hurled objects at the Manchester City coach as it arrived at the stadium, and Klopp has since pleaded with fans to show more respect when Roma arrive on Merseyside on Tuesday night.

"In the stadium do it again and better," Klopp told reporters ahead of the game.

"Outside the stadium please show the respect we have to show. This is an outstanding football club known for its fantastic atmosphere, so we don't need to throw things at the bus.

"Please show the respect that they deserve. We are only opponents on the pitch. Everyone knows what a wonderful place Rome is and not all people know how wonderful Liverpool is and we can show that in 20 minutes."

Liverpool are aiming to get to the Champions League final for the first time since 2007 when they were beaten by AC Milan.
