Jordan Henderson: 'Liverpool can qualify for Champions League'

Jordan Henderson says that Liverpool can qualify for the Champions League following their 2-0 Premier League victory over Newcastle United.

Jordan Henderson has said that Liverpool can qualify for the Champions League, following their 2-0 victory over Newcastle United.

Liverpool had lost to Arsenal and Manchester United in the lead-up to the match, but Henderson believes that the win puts them back in contention for a Champions League spot.

"We knew it was an important game for us," Henderson told Sky Sports News.

"Obviously the last couple of weeks in the Premier League have been disappointing both with performances and results. We knew today we needed to put that right and I think we did that with a great result for us.

"We've got ground to make up but we'll just keep going, keep winning in games and putting in performances. Come the end of the season, you never know."

Liverpool are currently fifth in the Premier League table, four points behind Manchester City.
