Away win delights Dundee United boss Csaba Laszlo

The Tangerines are up to third in the table.

Boss Csaba Laszlo was pleased to see his Dundee United side take
care of Ladbrokes Championship strugglers Falkirk with a 2-0 away win.

The Taysiders moved up to third in the table, two points behind Ayr United, thanks to second-half headers from Pavol Safranko and Craig Curran.

Former United boss Ray McKinnon is still looking for his first point as Bairns boss with his side bottom of the table with no points from six games.

Laszlo told ArabZone: "I congratulate the team as this was a really difficult game for us.

"The last away game against Alloa (1-1) was a similar situation, they were down near the bottom and I don't think we underestimated them but we didn't play the football we know we can play.

"Falkirk had nothing to lose, they hadn't had a win, it was really dangerous but we put a smile on the faces of the supporters who came in big numbers.

"I am proud of the team and the supporters."

A Lawrence Shankland double in a 2-0 win at Alloa took Ayr United back to the top of the table.

The prolific striker took his tally for the season to 15 with a goal in each half.

The Honest Men took over top spot from Inverness, who drew 0-0 at Highland rivals Ross County.

Morton capitalised on a late mistake by Dunfermline Athletic keeper Lee Robinson to take point at Cappielow.

Andy Ryan opened the scoring for the visitors in the 23rd minute but with eight minutes remaining Robinson allowed a long-range effort from Scott Tiffoney to slip through his grasp.

Blair Spittal grabbed a double as Partick Thistle came from behind twice to beat Queen of the South 3-2 at home.

Stephen Dobbie gave Queens the lead in the ninth minute with drove in his 21st goal of the season before Kris Doolan levelled from close range.

Josh Todd's shot had the visitors back in front but Spittal scored twice in two minutes before the break, his second a wonderful 25-yard volley,
to keep the points in Maryhill.

Despite seeing his side come from behind to win the game, manager Alan Archibald called for more from his players.

"Defensively, we're just giving goals away and we can't afford to do that every week," he told the club website. "The first goal is very avoidable and the second is a simple counter attack. If we can stop the individual errors then that would give us a great base to build on.

"To be fair to the defence though, we looked pretty solid in the second half and they didn't get many clear cut chances. It was good to see us just grind a result out like that against quality opposition."
