Real Betis survived a second-half comeback from Deportivo La Coruna this afternoon.

Both sides began the game in an attacking style, but lacked the finishing touch in front of goal.

Ruben Castro broke the deadlock shortly before half-time with a close range header from a Nacho cross. Castro added his second ten minutes into the second half with a strike from inside the box.

However, Betis' two-goal advantage did not last long, with Riki pegging a goal back for the home side less than one minute later.

The Spanish striker added a second five minute later to level the scores.

There were plenty of chances for both teams as they pressed for a winner. Joel Campbell restored the visitors' lead in the 76th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box.

Real Betis looked messy in the final stages as they struggled to contain the home side as they pushed for the equaliser, but they were able to keep the ball out of the net for a third time to take the win.

The victory moves Real Betis ahead of Malaga into the Champions League places, while Deportivo remain in the bottom three.
