Half-Time Report: Goalless between Crystal Palace, Manchester United

Neither side can find a breakthrough after the first 45 minutes in the Premier League clash between Crystal Palace and Manchester United at Selhurst Park.

It's goalless at the break in the Premier League clash between Crystal Palace and Manchester United at Selhurst Park.

United started the game in a confident fashion and Wayne Rooney did well to head the ball into the path of Robin van Persie inside the box, but the striker went for an ambitious overhead kick and missed the ball completely.

The visitors had the ball in the net in the 17th minute when Adnan Januzaj fired in a volley from the edge of the area, but the whistle of referee Michael Oliver was blown for handball by the winger.

David Moyes's side should have taken the lead when Rooney lifted a cross into the area which looped towards the top corner. Damien Delaney headed the ball off the line, but it fell invitingly for Nemanja Vidic, who somehow missed the target from two yards out.

Palace responded to this threat from United as Jonathan Parr powered a header at goal from 12 yards and his effort took a deflection off Chris Smalling, but David de Gea reacted quickly to turn the ball past the post.

United ended the half with plenty of possession but lacked any penetration until Van Persie sneaked around the back of the Palace defence and slid a ball into the path of Marouane Fellaini, but the midfielder scuffed his shot wide of the post.
