Lazio ease past AC Chievo Verona

Lazio beat AC Chievo Verona 2-0 in their Serie A clash at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.

Lazio have extended their unbeaten run in Serie A to five games by beating AC Chievo Verona 2-0 at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.

The visitors took the lead in the sixth minute when Keita Balde Diao won the ball in midfield and played in Antonio Candreva to fire a strike past the keeper at the near post.

Keita Balde came close to adding a second for his side, but saw his close-range effort blocked by Christian Puggioni.

After the break, Keita Balde tried his luck with a near-post flick, which Puggioni turned round the post.

In the 70th minute Lazio made their domination count by scoring their second of the afternoon. Keita Balde cut in from the right and drilled in a low strike, which took a deflection and found its way into the bottom corner.

Miroslav Klose almost scored a third goal a minute later, but he could only find the side-netting from a tight angle.
