Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri reportedly makes contact with Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri regarding a summer transfer.

Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri has reportedly told Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri that he wants to sign him during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old is currently nearing the end of a loan spell with Lyon, where he has made 28 appearances in Ligue 1 and the Europa League.

Although the French outfit have the option of pushing through a permanent deal, such a move remains in doubt as they attempt to secure European football for next season.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, former Chelsea head coach Sarri has already indicated to the full-back that he would like a reunion.

While no negotiations are said to have been held between the two clubs, Palmieri is allegedly open to making the switch to Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio will be unable to make an official move until Lyon reach a decision over the future of the Italy international, whose contract at Stamford Bridge expires in 2024.
