Thibaut Courtois reveals his desire to continue his loan spell from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed that he would rather remain with loanee club Atletico Madrid next season than return to Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian joined the Blues from Genk in 2011 but has spent the last two years in La Liga with Atletico.

However, instead of heading back to his parent club, the 21-year-old has insisted that he would prefer to continue his development with another loan stint at the Vicente Calderon.

"I want to stay. I'd rather play in La Liga than be a substitute in the Premier League," he said. "There's a World Cup and I want to go.

"Here I will be able to play in the Champions League and there's no better place to play than here. At Atletico I have progressed a lot."

Courtois has kept 22 clean sheets in all competitions this season.
