Burnley and Watford earn a point each in the 1-1 draw at Turf Moor this afternoon.

Burnley and Watford played out a 1-1 draw in the Championship clash at Turf Moor this afternoon.

After just 10 minutes, Watford took the lead following a succession of corners. The ball finally fell to Nathaniel Chabolah, who volleyed home from 20 yards.

Burnley struggled to keep hold of possession, despite playing at a very high tempo.

The home side got their chance to draw level on 29 minutes when Almen Abdi bundled Dean Marney over to give them a penalty. Charlie Austin stepped up and made it 1-1.

Lee Grant pulled a superb double save to twice deny Troy Deeney after 51 minutes, blocking his far post header before getting down quickly to stop the second effort.

Austin came close to a second goal, but his glancing header was saved by Manuel Almunia.

Burnley appealed for a second penalty after the ball struck Marco Cassetti's arm, but the referee wasn't interested.

Neither side could grab a late winner and the game ended 1-1.
