Sean Dyche refuses to commit future to Burnley

Sean Dyche refuses to confirm that his future is at Burnley following their relegation from the Premier League.

Sean Dyche has refused to commit his future to Burnley following their relegation from the Premier League.

A 1-0 victory over Hull City on Saturday was not enough to prevent their relegation from being confirmed, and their failure to secure top-flight football for another year is likely to cast doubt on the future of Dyche, who is reported to be a target of Newcastle United.

"There's a desire from me to get through today, go home and see my family and then make sense of everything", the Clarets boss told reporters. "We'll see. That's another day's story. For the moment, my thoughts are on my players and the group.

"I'm reflecting on the immediate gut feeling of how it is. That gut feeling is that you want to work hard, you want to be progressive and you want to learn. That's me and, of course, the players as well.

"Wherever that takes you, who knows? But at the moment I'm Burnley Football Club manager. That's all I'm thinking about and I'm only thinking about the people involved at this moment in time."

Burnley host Stoke City next week before visiting Aston Villa on the final day of the season.
