Half-Time Report: Danny Ings strike hands Burnley lead over Birmingham City

Half-Time Report: Ings strike hands Burnley lead
Danny Ings scores his fourth goal of the season to hand Burnley the advantage at half time in their Championship clash with Birmingham City.

Burnley lead Birmingham City in their Championship clash at Turf Moor thanks to a goal from Danny Ings.

The home side had the perfect start to the game when they took the lead in the third minute when Sam Vokes threaded a through-ball for Ings and he made no mistake slotting the ball past Darren Randolph.

Ings almost doubled his and Burnley's tally on the evening when he got the ball inside the box but this time he could only drill his effort wide of the post with Randolph beaten.

Birmingham winger Chris Burke had their best chance of the half when he beat several Clarets defenders and fired a powerful shot at goal from distance but the ball went inches wide of the post.

Just before the break, Ings was involved yet again when he turned provider for Vokes but the Wales international could only fire his effort wide from 12 yards out.
