Goals from Chris McCann and Martin Paterson give Burnley a 2-0 lead against Crystal Palace after 45 minutes.

A pair of well-worked goals have handed Burnley the advantage over Crystal Palace going into the break at Selhurst Park.

Eddie Howe's side were ahead after 25 minutes when Chris McCann reacted quickest to tuck home the rebound when Julian Speroni could only parry a shot from Junior Stanislas.

Burnley made it two just three minutes later through Martin Paterson, who produced a delicate chip after being played through by Marvin Bartley.

Palace struggled to control possession throughout the first half, but earned a lifeline just before the interval when Wilfried Zaha steered a measured shot past Lee Grant to make the score 2-1.
