Burnley boss Sean Dyche reveals that Scott Arfield is struggling with a minor injury and will likely miss the Manchester City match, as will Chris Wood and Stephen Ward.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has insisted that he has no choice but to rotate his side for the FA Cup third-round trip to Manchester City this weekend.

The Clarets are flying high in the Premier League, occupying seventh place in the division following a season to remember thus far.

On the back of a gruelling festive and New Year schedule, however, including a run of four matches in nine days, Dyche has vowed to change things around when Burnley visit the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

"We'll have to on this occasion. We have lost players," he told reporters. "We picked up another niggly one which means Scott Arfield will probably miss out.

"We have to [rotate]. We have no choice. The players have played two games in three days, the bulk of them. They are, as much as I work them hard and their will to work hard, humans and I don't forget that.

"Scott has a minor hamstring. Nothing major but he's had to come out of training. We will see how that settles down but it's so close to the game it's improbable.

"Woody (Chris Wood) is settling down, but not for this weekend. [Stephen] Ward is going well but not for this weekend."

Premier League leaders Man City are also expected to name a mixed XI for the first of two meetings between the sides over the next month.
