Half-Time Report: David Mooney fires Leyton Orient into lead

Leyton Orient striker David Mooney fires the O's to a 1-0 half-time lead over Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

David Mooney has fired League One leaders Leyton Orient into a 1-0 half-time lead over Bristol City at Ashton Gate tonight.

The Irishman gave his team the lead on 23 minutes, collecting a loose ball after goalkeeper Elliot Parish denied Kevin Lisbie's header, before sweeping home the opening goal.

The Robins responded well to the deficit and nearly restored parity minutes later, only for goalkeeper Jamie Jones to palm Marlon Pack's 30-yard free kick past the post.

Mooney's strike proved sufficient in the O's earning the lead at the interval as Russell Slade's men are half-way toward maintaining their place at the summit of League One.
