Bordeaux beat ten-man Montpellier

Bordeaux beat ten-man Montpellier 2-0 in this afternoon's Ligue 1 encounter to secure all three points.

Bordeaux secured all three points in this afternoon's Ligue 1 clash, beating ten-man Montpellier 2-0.

The home side drove forward straight from kick off and had a chance through Henri Saivet, though the forward's effort was saved by the goalkeeper.

Djamel Bakar had a chance for the away side on eight minutes, but he could only put his header wide of the mark.

Montpellier went down to ten men on the 20-minute mark when the referee showed Yassine Jebbour a red card.

Bordeaux tried to take advantage of the decision and pushed forward, though Cheick Diabate couldn't beat the goalkeeper with his strike on goal.

Ludovic Obraniak came close just before half time, but he could only put his shot wide of the mark.

Diego Rolan found some space on 58 minutes, but couldn't keep his strike on target as Bordeaux continued to press the ten men of Montpellier.

Diabate finally made the home side's pressure pay, giving Bordeaux the lead after 75 minutes.

Obraniak extended Bordeaux's lead in injury time to secure the points for his side.
