Spain boss Vincente del Bosque drops Barcelona duo Xavi and Gerard Pique for this evening's vital World Cup group match against Chile.

Spain boss Vincente del Bosque has dropped Barcelona duo Xavi and Gerard Pique for this evening's vital World Cup group match against Chile.

The duo are replaced by Pedro and Javi Martinez respectively as the defending champions go in search of their first win of the tournament after losing 5-1 to the Netherlands on the second day.

Chile, meanwhile, make one change to their starting lineup as they look to make it two wins from two in Brazil.

Jorge Valdivia comes out and is replaced by Francisco Silva in Jorge Sampaoli's first XI.

Spain: Casillas; Azpilicueta, Javi Martinez, Ramos, Jordi Alba; Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Iniesta; Pedro, Diego Costa, Silva
