Borussia Monchengladbach confirm that Arsenal and Liverpool-linked midfielder Denis Zakaria will leave the club when his contract expires in 2022.

Borussia Monchengladbach have confirmed that in-demand midfielder Denis Zakaria will leave the club upon the expiration of his contract in 2022.

The Switzerland international is about to enter the final six months of his deal with the Bundesliga outfit and will be free to sign pre-contract agreements with foreign teams from Saturday onwards.

Monchengladbach's efforts to tie Zakaria down to a new deal have failed to bear fruit, and the club have now announced that the 25-year-old will move on next year.

A statement on the official Borussia Monchengladbach website read: "Denis Zakaria has informed the club of his intention to leave in the summer after five years at Gladbach."

Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all believed to be preparing offers for Zakaria, who has registered 11 goals and eight assists in 144 games for Monchengladbach since 2017.

Furthermore, Zakaria's teammate Matthias Ginter has also confirmed his intention to seek pastures new when his own Monchengladbach deal runs out in six months' time.
