Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Wednesday's Emirates Cup clash with Monaco.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has several fitness concerns to work around for Wednesday's Emirates Cup clash with Ligue 1 giants Monaco.

The Gunners were without all of Declan Rice (knock), Oleksandr Zinchenko (calf) and Folarin Balogun (foot) for their recent 5-3 win over Barcelona in the United States, while Reiss Nelson (toe) and Albert Sambi Lokonga (muscle) also missed the journey.

None of Rice, Balogun or Zinchenko are believed to be nursing severe problems, but caution may be exercised with the latter in particular, as he struggled with a spate of physical glitches last term.

With Zinchenko out of contention, Jurrien Timber occupied the left-back position against Barca, but Kieran Tierney may now break into the first XI as his Dutch colleague switches to the right.

Ben White could be forced to accept a spot on the bench if that is the case, as Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba form the established pairing in front of Aaron Ramsdale, who could potentially face competition from David Raya next season if reports are to be believed.

Should Rice be kept in reserve, Thomas Partey - who is now expected to stay put for next season - could start as Arsenal's number six, as Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz link up with the Ghana international.

Fresh from a two-goal showing against Barcelona, Leandro Trossard may have done enough to keep Gabriel Martinelli out of the attacking trident, which should be completed by Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus as ever.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Odegaard, Partey, Havertz; Saka, Jesus, Trossard
