Jack Wilshere claims that Everton have been Arsenal's toughest opponents this season following Sunday's 1-1 draw between the two teams.

Jack Wilshere has claimed that Everton have been Arsenal's toughest opponents this season following Sunday's 1-1 draw in the Premier League.

Gerard Deulofeu scored a late equaliser for the Toffees at the Emirates Stadium after Mesut Ozil had given the Gunners the lead.

Wilshere has now praised the high-flying Merseysiders for their impressive style of football under new manager Roberto Martinez.

"I'd say [Everton have been our toughest opponents this season]," he told the club's official website. "We played Tottenham here as well which was a tough game, but Everton always come here and they do well.

"They're a strong team, they've got a new manager as well so they play a different way but they're still just as strong. They took the game to us in the first half."

Arsenal conclude their Champions League group campaign on Wednesday when they face Napoli in Italy.
