Arsene Wenger: Alexis Sanchez "could have been killed" by Ryan Bennett

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger feels that Alexis Sanchez could have died after Ryan Bennett 'pushed' him into the cameraman's pit at Carrow Road.

Arsene Wenger has criticised Norwich City's Ryan Bennett for the incident which "could have killed" Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez in last Sunday's 1-1 draw.

Bennett appeared to push the Chilean into the cameraman's pit at Carrow Road but, despite escaping unharmed, Wenger says that the situation could have been much worse.

"When Sanchez was pushed into the boards on the side of the field, that did not shock anybody," the Gunners boss told reporters

"It is absolutely dangerous to have a camera there. He could have killed him. Bennett did not need to push him like he did."

After the game, Bennett tweeted: "Genuinely was trying to stop not push Sanchez just to clear that up."

Sanchez later suffered a hamstring injury in the same game.
