Theo Walcott: 'Three points were crucial'

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott admits that recording three points against Leicester City was "crucial" after losing to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has admitted that his team were fortunate to record a 2-1 victory against Leicester City on Tuesday.

The Gunners had to withstand a spirited second-half effort from the Foxes before eventually prevailing at the Emirates Stadium, but Walcott has insisted that registering three points was all that mattered after losing at Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

The 25-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It was nice to get a result after the disappointment of Saturday.

"The performance wasn't the best at times, but we got the three points and we fought it out in the end. It was very scrappy at time but getting the three points was crucial."

The win sees Arsenal move level on points with third-placed Southampton in the Premier League standings.
